Show News Edinburgh & East of Scotland Cat Club Show - Saturday 19 July 2008 This is another show almost local to me since it is held in Musselburgh, less than an hour away from home, so another welcome change from driving through the dawn. Jasper came with me and so did his youngest "sister" Mina making her first appearance on the show bench one day before she was five months old. Jasper was in good spirits in spite of the heat and gained a Reserve Imperial Certificate, another Grand Certificate, Best of Breed and first and second in his two side classes. Mina had a blue card day, coming second in everything but had such a good time entertaining herself and members of the general public that she didn't care. My congratulations go to Abderus Ariadne, a very pretty girl a month younger than Mina, who beat her in the Open class. Overall, it was a good day for Abys. Eighteen were entered, sixteen of whom were Scottish bred and special congratulations have to go to Lorraine and Maureen Pontello, who saw eight cats of their own breeding on the bench at the same time, none of whom went home empty-handed! |
