Jasper, my beautiful sorrel boy, was entrusted to me by Maureen and Lorraine Pontello of Pontaby Abyssinians from Cumbernauld, near Glasgow He was born in August 2005; his father is the outstanding Dutch import IGR.CH. One Shot from A'Far and his mother is GrCh. Abychat Honeycomb. Honeycomb herself is now a legendary cat, having recently become the only Fawn Abyssinian in the UK to gain the title of Grand Champion.

Jasper is an example of how different feline temperaments can be since he is a bold, argumentative, naughty boy, not given to the notion of stopping anything he wants to do just because I tell him it's not a good idea. Added to that, of course, he is totally loveable and loving, enjoying nose nibbling and ear licking (mine that is, not his) in the brief intervals when he stops doing his perpetual-motion machine impersonation.

He enjoys showing and being the centre of attention and is now on the road to his Imperial title, having achieved his Grand in three consecutive shows in 2007 and then winning a fourth at the Supreme Show in November.
