Imperial Grand Premier
Abyglen Aisling (Aisling)
Aisling (say Ashleen - the Irish spelling is designed to confuse anyone who isn't a Celt) was my first Abyssinian. She was born in January 2001 from Gr.Ch. Abyglen Ajax and Annera Bluevelvet and bred by Mrs Dorothy Harley of Tillicoultry in Scotland, one of the most respected contributors to the development of the breed in the country. She was originally intended to be a companion to my last rescue cat, a very elderly Tabby but fate had other plans for both of us (See Ailsa's page for details).
She is a Usual (the original Aby colour, known in America as Ruddy) and, as the others have arrived over the years, has proved herself to be the matriarch of the group, rarely losing her temper with bold and annoying younger cats but employing the odd well-aimed cuff when necessary to maintain order.
She has had a long and distinguished show career which has recently come to an end with her winning of the most senior title of Imperial Grand Premier in March 2008 when she became the first Scottish-bred Abyssinian to gain this award.
